Someday, four door classics like this abandoned '58 Chevy will gain favor and perhaps be subjected to a fine restoration. But for now, she just sits in these woods, succumbing to Mother Nature a bit more each passing season.

Probably a true statement. Everybody seemed to abandon the non-two-door Impalas. In fact it wasn't too long ago that even if you had a two-door 58 Impala you were abandoned by the 55-57 Chevrolet lovers too.

The biggest enemy against the 58's was the X-frame that collected road salt, dirt and mud that rotted out the frames. To fully restore this car doing all the work yourself back to showroom quality would cost the restorer an easy 50K even if everything is there and the frame is good. So, It will probably sit for a LONG time in this economy. :(

There's a lot of air in that tire for it to be abandoned; perhaps the owner merely misplaced her?
