An early morning view of the Mill Pond attached to Spirit Lake, Idaho. No boats, no folks fishing, just a quiet, serene slice of Nature reminding us how calm the World can be.
Most people who think they've heard of Spirit Lake, Idaho either thought it blew up (Mt. St. Helens in Washington State had a Spirit Lake that was destroyed in the eruption), or they've heard of Spirit Lake, Iowa (one of the few lakes in Iowa, and thus famous), and can't keep Iowa and Idaho separated in their minds.
Spirit Lake, Idaho, is a bit off the beaten track, located about in the middle of a triangle including Spokane, Coeur D'Alene, and Sandpoint in the Northwest United States, and just a few miles east of Mt. Spokane.

That's so beautiful with the lilies and reflections. I love the way the green part of the photo goes from large to small in the distance, it gives great depth to the picture. And I love a picture with a bit of a story to go with it - particularly for those of us not in America who appreciate hearing about the geography
